Nine Inch Nails is coming to Manila? Wow, it’s about time. I was so much of a fan back in ‘98 and now it’s more than a decade and the Perfect Drug still does wonders on my senses. Well to those who will be attending, expect to  see our beloved Orcs outside the gates trying to crash in.  I really admire those kids, going to every concert, wearing black shirts of their baby siblings, when they were most probably watching Judy Ann Santos’ Anna Luna back in those days and have not heard of NIN.  If the Orcs are gonna do their research on NIN, here’s some advice, NIN is NOT Emo and NIN is NOT metal.  So what is NIN then you ask me? I tell you I don’t know, but fuck, I appreciate their music and that’s enough to fuck you like an animal.  See you guys in the concert…if it pushes through.

Oh one more thing, NIN has a song called HURT, emo-loving kids would say this is emo crap, but for crying out loud,  your bands can not be compared to NIN and Trent Reznor.

By this time your ears may have already adapted to Metallica’s “The Day that never comes” which I am hearing in NU for at least 48 times a day! I actually like what they’ve did as they incorporated their style back in their way way heavy 80’s days! I’m talking about their tunes from “Kill ‘em All.” Those quick-paced riffs and lightning quick finger-tapped solos by Hammet are back in today’s Metallica. Sorry Jason, I don’t miss you!

The new album, “Death Magnetic” was not available last time I checked our local stores or maybe, just maybe, I went to no-good record bar! So feel free to correct me. Death Magnetic was apparently leaked to net, and to my surprise, Lars Ulrich, has finally gotten in touch with reality and accepted the downside of the internet(at least for artists), peer to peer!

Still I would not encourage P2P, you can call it BS all you want, but hey, let’s support our boys, it’s like work you know, they have to eat!

Top Eraserhead and Pupil Vocalist, Ely Buendia got out of the hospital 2 days ago and has attended her late mom’s wake. Our condolences to his family!

According to his manager/publicisist, Day(short for inday) Cabuhat, Ely is “fully restored,” which makes it sound like he’s a machine! Oh well, let’s just thank the Maker, Ely is ok and we hope the heads get back together! Sige na! Magbalikan na kayo!

Drop your side projects, that’s what ruined you in the first place!

So Third Eye Blind, also called “3eb,” will be kicking off SMB’s “Octoberfest.” Yes I know, it’s only September, go tell the smart guys of SMB that! They won’t care, it’s just for marketing to make more money!

So the band is probably in Manila already, enjoying the Filipino Hospitality. And yes, like most kids today think they are EMO, NO thay are not. Anyway, I am linking to a blog for more details regarding this event.

Just when I was about to get in the VIP section, the announcement came and the Eraserheads concert got cut due to Ely Buendia’s condition. If you folks remember, this dude suffered a heart attack some time ago while on a gig. Hopefully nothing serious happened to Ely but hey, we gotta thank the heads for doing this to us, their loyal fans. It appears that Buendia got stressed too much, we also have to remember that his mom just died a day ago.

After their first set(included “Alapaap”, “Ligaya”, “Wag mo ng itanong”, “Fruitcake”, etc…), fans waited for about half an hour, and again, I was about to transfer to the VIP when we finally got the annoucement. Should’ve known that when I saw panicked faces. Then I just got the text message from my contact in MTV that the show was being cancelled just now(can you belive that?), due to network problems.

It’s also one helluva viral marketing. I couldn’t believe the people that came and paid to see the filipinos’ fab four in just a short period of time with not much info and advertisments. I also have to mention the thousands of “orcs” outside the venue listening to the concert and desperately trying to view the combo!

Ticketnet apparently needs a superproxy for their servers as they can’t seem to handle transactions. They howver disclaim, that the influx is coming from Eheads fans wanting to purchase tickets. Tickets which weirdly have not been priced yet! How can you buy something without a price?
